The Evolution of "GO-FOR-GOLD" to "GO-FOR-GROWTH"

As part of the continued evolution of Sierra Leone’s flagship initiative to attract foreign direct investment, we would like to provide advance notice of the forthcoming brand relaunch and associated name change of this increasingly important FDI initiative of the Sierra Leone Immigration Department.

The name change of GO-FOR-GOLD to GO-FOR-GROWTH does not alter existing contractual arrangements with current contracting entities, TG 2050 SL Ltd & Hong Kong Visa Centre Ltd.

The decision to evolve the name directly reflects the program's operational maturity and the broader transformation underway across Sierra Leone. Having successfully completed more than 60 new citizenships and welcomed their families in support of national FDI, the initiative has firmly established its viability and the program is now ready for complete commercial scale.

Along the way, the program has incorporated invaluable operational insights, each emblematic of the agile, delivery-focused approach of the Special Projects Office of the President, which has driven historic milestones including the National Investment Board (NIB), the new Lungi International Airport, and the recent establishment of the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Sierra Leone.

While the initiative initially emphasized the mining sector, the economic landscape has advanced significantly of late. With national gold exports surging by over 400% this year alone, the strategic priority has shifted: Sierra Leone does not simply require capital tied to mineral extraction, but rather diversified, sustainable FDI across every pillar of the economy.

The transition from "Gold" to "Growth" aligns directly with Vision 2039 and His Excellency The President’s agenda for comprehensive nation-building.

The word “Growth” speaks directly to this expanded national mandate. The program is designed to mobilize responsible global capital into long-term economic diversification, infrastructure, job creation, and strategic international partnerships.

The name change mirrors the true nature of the national mission: investment is the catalyst, citizenship is the pathway, and sustainable national development is the ultimate objective.
